day three we headed out to "
soveriegn trail" i had rode this a long ass time ago, but damn, i swear this was closer to the la
sals, oh well we started out and it was a lot like being in
friuta to me, which those of us that know
thats a good thing, it had a good mix of rough spots and
flowy single track,
theres even some good descending in a couple of places. the whole crew started out on this one but a number of them turned back because there was some mechanical stuff and
brent fell pretty good at one point..

we came to this one spot called "copper ridge" and it looked like this big flat piece of slick rock up to a ridge with some small hoodoos on top, well we decided to check it out. there was nothing flat about it,
chris and i took a way different line than anyone else and we ended up traversing and
scaling these small canyons that you
couldnt see
from the actual trail, it was tough going at times, i almost fell into that hole that you can see me riding above..

you have to look close and then you can see
jordan on his bike and then if you look at the top there is a hiker climbing the rocks, this was a cool section, a few switch backs through the ledges and the boulders and on to some more cool downs..

a little piece of one of the smaller climbs, some
people dont care for this trail but hey, its mountain biking whats to complain about, yeah its exposed and a bit choppy at times but
soveriegn is a good one in my book, its a great end of the trip trail that you hit on the way out of town or maybe camp out there the last night or something..

like i said we split up on this ride also, but the funny thing was that those of us that continued on found a connector trail that got us back to the cars before the guys that turned around, we were all on our second beer when the others showed, and
jordan had already performed his stupid human tricks, those pics on the next post...
